The “Sir James Clarke Ross,” the mother ship of the Norwegian Whaling Fleet which operates in the Ross Sea, arrived to-day from Sande Fjord, Norway, after an uneventful passage. PRODUCERS’ LEAGUE. WELLINGTON, OinkcAt a meeting of the New Zealand Producers’ Free Marketing League, consisting of producers and delegates from co-operative and proprietary factorifir-. as well as representatives of the business community from all parts of New Zealand, it was decided to approve of and encourage the Dairy Produce Control Board in its activities exiept compulsory marketing and the pooling of results, both of which are to be .strenuously opposed by tbe League. It also unanimously decided that members of tbe control board should in future lie elected by the single Ward system. .Several speakers congratulated the Control Board on the stand it had taken in connection with the shipping strike as a result whereof, there had been little delay in the shipments of butter and cheese. The hope was also expressed that the board would continue to pay close attention to the shipping question generally, such as providing steamers of more individual speed and equipment. tbe regulation of sailing dates and elimination of delays in loading.
.MOTOR-CAR ACCIDENT. I) ANNEX'III KE, October 19. A motor-ear, driven by Lui Paewai of All Black fame, containing three otl;cr occupants, capsized in Norsewood district yesterday alter striking a bank and turning a couple of somersaults. Paewai is now in the hospital suffering front facial injuries, which are not considered serious, while Harry James Webster, the only other one to be injured, is in tbe hospital with a damaged back.

The tile which broke out on the Turakina uibile site Was berthed at the King’s wlmrf last Thursday morning and which resulted in serious damage to the cargo in the vessel's after hold, lias been subject to an investigation as a result of which facts have been disclosed which lead it to be believed that the outbreak was not accidental as was first thought. An investigation litis shown the tire broke out in lour different portions of the hold simultaneously. The cargo in the hold consisted mainly of copra and inHummable produce. FOUND HANGED. PALMERSTON X., Oct. 10. After lie had been missing fourteen weeks, the body of Edward Randle, aged -13, married, with two children, was this morning found hanging in a loft at bis employer’s premises.
