I Tin* death took pliire <in Saturday morning at his residence, Totarn. Ross, of Mr Thomas Move, one of the veteran residents of the district, after a short illness. The deceased was a native of Ennis. County Clare. Ireland and 8? years of age. He came to New Zealand in 1862. and settled at Ross in its early days, and was engaged in fanning pursuits on the Totarn for a long period of years, lie "as a fine stamp of a pioneer and was generally esteemed throughout the district. Ho leaves a widow and family of two sons (Thomas and James, hoth in the Grey district) and three daughters (Mrs J. M anera of Ross, Mrs T. West of Grevmouth and Mrs Power of Sydney). The funeral took plate to Ross cemetery yesterday afternoon and was followed by a large number of friends. The services at the ehtireh and graveside were conducted hy the Rev. Dr. Kennedy.
