WESTLAND TROTTING CLUB.

The annual meeting of members was held on Thursday evening at the Club rooms. Hamilton Street. Mr h. .McGregor presiding over an attendance of eleven members, while apologies were made L.r other members. ANN CAL KKITIBT. Gentlemen- Your Executive has pleasure in presenting the Annual Report and Statement of Accounts and Balance Sheet for the year ending doth ot September 19‘20. The Club held its annual rare meeting on bill January. 192 b. the sum of £BOO being given in stake money. Tlm weather was line and the course being in good order tlm meeting passed nil very satisfactorily. There was a good a (tendance of the public, the gate receipts showing an increase oi £. * on tim previous year, this being accounted for mainly by H ■ charge of 'Js fid for admission of ladies which brought in £46. whilst the charge for gentlemen was increased to 7s lid. ilio nominations and acceptances were a hit disappointing and the reveuo I nun this source showed a decline of £l-10 on the previous figures. The sum of £7.BGb was put through the toialisator as against £7199. an increase of £(>64. Air .Malice was in attendance in the eapaeitv of Stipendiary Steward and reported very favourably on the conductof (he meeting. 1 lie Clubs stewaids were all attentive to their respective duties, which were carried out in their usual ctlioiont manner. Tlm Refreshment Rooms' were again conducted by the lady helpers under tlm directions of .Mrs O. Fowler and tlm ( luh is much indebted to them for tlmir valuable services so freely given al all times. The date of tlm next race meeting of the Club is set down for Saturday 2ml January. Your executive made arrangements with the Bank to increase the present overdraft to £IOO9 with the object of ■paying ol!' the sundry creditors and to consolidate the debt. The extra advance was granted on the understanding Hint the present guarantors should sign tlm now guarantee, hut so tar only a few have done so and it is hoped the remainder will (all into hue m ordei to help the Club along. It is proposed to reduce the liability by at least £l(lf) per vear. and with this end in view, economies will he elleeted in seioia! ways. It is recommended that- the -lakes for the i-oming meeting lie reduced to £7OO. a reduction of £IOO on last year's programme. The relict promised by tlm Government in totnlisator tax should also amount t > a considerable sum and with other economies to lie made, the prospects of considerable reducing tlie liability are distinctly good.
