Brown who has been three times convicted of heresy for his relusnl to yccept the doctrine’of the Virgin birth of Christ, and the liberal interpretation of the Biblical account of the Creation, and also of recent alleged Communistic utterances, and writings, lias been deposed from the ministry of the Protestant Episcopioal Church. Bishop Etliclhert Talbot read the sc,mice as follows:— "1 declare you deposed from the Sacred Ministry. Dr Brown thereupon annoniiceil licit because he considered his conviction illegal, he would not heed U>A
sentonce, hut would continue to receive and administer Communion, and to perform the duties ol a Bishop. Fpon Dr Brown's request, HI. Rev. |ud'-e Burns ordered the House of Bishops, sitting as part ol the General Convention here, to appear at I l-e Federal Court on I Ith Octobers#-* show cause why the deposition sentence against Dr. Brown should he, imposed.
