Careful inquiry. he said. disclosed the fact that 80 per cent, of Sunday seheol pupils failed to reach church memhership. ami as 7 per cent, of elm roll membership came from the schools the loss v.as serious. Three main reasons for the leakage were: Indifference to the church by a large portion of the community. unfavourable contrast between the methods of teaching, and those of day schools, and increasing lacilitiers for pleasure on Sunday.
