Matson and Co., report as follows regaiding their stock Bala at Addington yards yesterday: CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Store Sheep.— -V small yarding, hut a larger attendance of buyers. Aged ewes with lambs at foot formed the greater portion of the yarding. Evidently the entry comprised a fair proportion of dealers in sheep as several lots were e.! -eel at what appeared t> be good price-. Hoggets were firmer and what lev Weiner- were in also sold well. A fairly large yarding, comprising I7P head, which included about I Of) North Islanders, besides West Coast consignments. The quality, generally speaking, was above the average and included some out standing lines of steers. Cows and heifer- were in short supply and sold well. The market opened easier hy 30s to -Ills tier head on la-1 week, but firmed towards the finish, and on the whole was easier than last week. Mutton. A medium yarding, mostly wethers. The largest proportion of the entry came from South Canterbury. The quality generally was above tbe average, although the sale was very irregular.
