AMUSEMENTS.
AUSTRALIAN LADY PIPERS. The Australian Ladies' Pipe Band and Concert. Company arrived by tho delayed train last, evening, and at once wont to the Princess Theatre where they gave their attractive entertainment. In spite of the protracted delay in arrival and the consequent upsetting of their arrangements, the management soon had matters rectified and a large audience gathered to hear them. Pmler Drum-Major W. Darwin. a very fine programme was submitted. The performers at once found favor with the audience and tho various items were splendidly received, encores being demanded in nearly every instance. The Pipe Band in full force gave a number of spirited .selections, their marching evolutions being clcverIv executed, which the size of ihe stage only prevented from being added to in attractiveness. The ft iris' Reel Party delighted the audience with their dames, the Irish jig. hornpipe and reels proving very attractive. The Company has several excellent soloists, and these young ladies were specially well received, while a number of very clever recitative numbers found great favour. The programme was a very versatile one. each number of its kind well executed. The leader. Mr Darwin added interest with his st a flaw inging and comedy songs, while tho special selections on the,bagpipes were specially attractive items. There was no halt right through tins programme, and though there was the unfortunate delay al the start, the audience .suffered no diminution of the announced programme which was not completed until nearly It o’clock. The whole performance was a very attractive one, and the Comnny leave very pleasant recollections behind them, the only regret being tlmi their stay was limited In one uight. The Company left by the morning train for Creynionih where they appear in-night. At ihe Interval. Drum-major A\ rillinm Darwin, F.TLd.S. apologised for the late arrival and tho appearance of ill" company w ithout the usual stage accessories. The hearty applause indie.iied that these short coinings were overlooked hv the indulgent audience.
