The problem of Sydney’s indite is to he the subject of yet another big conference towards the end of the mouth In the process of time something may cdiio of these gatherings of experts. The trouble is that Sydney's mroots are growing no larger, and its po hilation is growing no smaller. Perhaps after a few dozen people have been killed in a batch in Pitt street or at some of the suicidal corners which abound, alter struggling to side-step trams, motor-tars, or motor-lorries, something will really be thine. Ihe diflicitlty is that -t reels which we e laid out. or allowed simply to grow up hack m the early days, now have • carry At) times mere traffic in an hour than they did all day hack in that period. The problem is to find ntrre avenues to earl y til I l ake . and. more important still, to find t!m money to effect the necessary resumptions. In the meantime, the citizens ol Sydney. who have to move about the city at ' its busiest hour*, arc becoming noted for their clever manoeuvring in dodging the traffic.
