A feature of the .game was the sensational driving of both players, who preferred to remain on the hack court, engaging in frequent long rallies. The former American champion managed to gain the edge by her superior accuracy. The Australians won the doubles matches. Misses Boyd and St George defeating Misses Martha Bayard and Penelope Anderson 3—6. 6—4. 6—3, and Miss St George and Mrs A. It.

The Americans’ superior net play gave them the first set. but aci urate stroking from the Lack court enabled the -Australians to even the match. In another singles match.
