Riffs reaching Tangier from Ajdir state that Abdel Klim suspects that the recent Spanish landing was accomplished with the treacherous consent of the Bukova tribe, in whose territory Moroniueve is situated, and Krim therefore has severely chastised the Bukova villages, simultaneously informing tiie tribesmen that in the next engagement, with the Spaniards they will be placed in the front rank ol the Riff army, with the Beni Uriagliclites, Krim’s own tribe, behind them, under orders to shoot it the Bukovas hesitate to advance. The latest French advance in the Reni-Xcrua country is expected to result in wholesale tribal submission. The submission of one important tribo is already assured. It is believed that the tribal split is likely to spread elsewhere.
