In spite of a howling northwest gale on Saturday the game between West Coast and Old Boys (Christchurch) was commenced. Tho visitors won the toss and played with the wind behind them but the ground was ill a fearful condition and the gale prevented any decent play. When hall-time came Old Boys had scored two tries and then it was decided to abandon the game.
