The Legislative Council met at 2.8(1 The debate was continued on Kir Kraneis Hell’s motion that the Council views with satisfaction tbe increase in areas set apart as permanent and provisional state forests. The debate was again adjourned. The Repayment of Public Debt Bill and Electrical Wiromen’s Registration Bill were received front the House of Representatives and read a first time. The Child Welfare Bill was also received. read a first time and second time pro firma and referred to the Education ('ommittee. The Council adjourned at 1.52 until 12.89.
THE HOUSE. The House met at 2.80. The .Minister of Lands laid on the table, the report of the Royal Commission on difficulties experienced by settlers in Rangitaiki land drainage area. The following local hills passed all stages :—.Matakaoa Hospital District Bill, Napier Harbour Hoard Rating Regulation Bill, Wlutngiirei Harbour Hoard Empowering Bill. Rawhiti Domain Board Empowering Bill. Wliangarei Harbour Hoard Vesting and Empowering Bill. Wanganui City Council Empowering and Enabling Bill. The Pensions Amendment Bill. Coal Mines Bill, and Life Insurance Amendment bill were put through all stages and passed. The House rose at 1.10 till 2.80.
