Befrigcrating Coy., Christchurch notifying return of sheep for period and enclosing payment of £1 2 s.—Received. From Westland Branch. Automobile Asociation. asking that the gorse lie cleared near junction of Han Him road and Kanieri road, where ifc obstruets a view of truffle; recommending another parking place, in front of the Government Buildings in Sewell St.— Deceived. After discussion the request for a parking place was referred to Mr CoulsoiT to eon'or with Scrgt. King and Association.

I beg to report- that the following work's have been carried out. during the period, August. ITt.li. to Kept. loth. 1925:
The earthenware pipe drain across the. footpath in Hall St. near Mrs Mi'Eadyen's property has been relaid ai a lower level, and connected through to the KSiu. concrete pipe drain. The liu. earthenware pipe drain from Mr Bassett's property has also been relaid across the street at a lower level. There is now only one properly on this block in Hall St. which is not connected to the 18in.
concrete drain, and if this were completed the open drain <on Id lie filled in and a water table formed n.s the opportunity offered. A wooden culvert has been made for a distance of •il loot at Warren’s planing mill, thus allording an extension of the storage space for shavings. Concrete pipes, 1 Sin. in diameter have been laid on tin- western side of Davie St. for a distance of nproxinintcly OBIT. being part of the work required in the widening and regrading of that street. The l.'iin. galvanised iron water pipe, has been carried along Hark St. from Hall St. to lirittan St. and pari wav along Brittan St. completing the circuit of that block. The necessary connection- are licing made to the properties. Water services 'have been put in for Mrs Kane. Bevel I St. and Mr Votilo. also of Hevell Si. Water tables have been cleaned out on Hie wesl side of Hevell St. north. Bench St. water table- have been cleaned up and the footpath cleared of growth for Ihc whole length of the street.
The eonrrete buiiiilat ion for the tarlioiling plant lias been completed, as Inis also the raw tar storage well to held ITIKIgaI. Mosi 'of the '.fillings for the plain are to hand and the boiler should be nut of the foundry in a few days. One of the large frees in Cass Square considered to be dangerous, lias been felled. Mr C'oulson moved that- a schedule of the whole of the authorised work's of the borough be tabled.—Seconded by Mr King and carried. From .T. Jarman (Manager of Abattoirs) reporting for period ended on Hist. August there were examined: 12 cows. 28 heifers, fifl bullocks. 250 sheep, T pigs, 2 calves; condemned. 1 cow. Air OouFen moved the formal motion striking the rates for the year, to he payable on the 1 iftli. Sept, and ah i the sanitary fee for the year. Seconded by the Mayor and carried. Tn reply to Mr Evans, the Mayor stated the reservoir had been overflowing lor the past three week-. The Council adjourned at 9 p.m.
