Clarke. I). Allen F. McGregor. F.. Bowden. A. Parkhill. J. Toole, v. 11. Schultz. J. Peake. R. Wells. Apology was made for Air ('. J. P. Sellers. The chairman stated the object of the meeting, and a general discussion ensued as to the best form of celebration. Hon H. L. Mi died telegraphed from Otira:- “Please apologise for my unavoidable absence from meeting tonight. 1 shall, however, have- pleasure in astsocinving myself wit.li any arrangemnts decided on in regard to a. reunion of old members of the First Westland Rifles.” Proposals were put forward to hold a smoke concert, and also a social whereat ladies would ie invited. After discussion, it was resolved on the motion of Mr Wells: “That- those present- he a Committee to organise a function, and Messrs -T. Peake and Pi. Appleton Ik: asked to act as hon. secretaries. It was decided to circularise former members and invite their attendance

and support at the proposed reunion. . Air Pnrkltil! stated lie had some of the old rolls in his possesion, and from these many names of former members could !>e traced. Tt was resolved to adjourn to a. Infer date, and hold a meeting at which the form of function would be arranged definitely. From the cordial suoport given the movement, and the expressions of outside support by ex-members who could not attend the meeting, the reunion should he a very great sucres;
