At Grcymouth on Saturday lor the Dittmau Shield Grey defeated Inangaltuti by 20 to 3. From the kick-off the home team immediately set. itself on the offensive and the visitors were put on the alert, for some anxious moments. but a free kick relieved matters momentarily. Then Jack Steel took a pot shot- at goal from half-way. Tt wa.s a wonderful effort and it bore fruit the hall going beautifully through the posts. At this stage of the game “Pip’’ Jamieson had to retire owing to injury, Tlalliday replacing him. Inangahua were pressing heavily when Steel relieved with a penalty kick, which transferred the scene of action from one end of the field to the other. It was one of the must beautiful kicks that has oxer taken place on the Park. Grey then assumed the aggressive, and alter a computed forward movement Steel got over ( Oitvet ting his own try. Tn the scrums there was little to choose between the teams. The Combined team played a great game, but their movements lacked finish.
