This was discussed until 12-15 when a division was taken, the amendment being defeated hy IK to 15. The report was then received ami the Minister ut Eittanee moved that the House go into Committee on the hill. This raised a heated debate mi the (|U*'stioii whether the Prime Minister was guilty "I a breach of faith inasmuch as lie had promised the leader ol the I,about Parts' that he would not put the hill through all its stages at that sitting. Mr Coates explained that circumstances had changed since he made his promise and he had changed his mind. They could call it a breach of taith i* i iiev liked and do tl'eir worst.
Tim debate was then started on the question that the House ,g" into Committee on the bill and at 2.15 Mi Fraser moved a further amcndinenl that the bill be referred back to the
