The game was not a high standard, there being a lack of combination both tennis, and especially among the North forwards. In a half line, the North Island were better, but the full hacks of the South Island wore excellent in defence. Throughout the game was evenly contested. The final goal was not shot until within a few minutes of the whistle. The gaols for the North Island were scored bv Misses Hill and Hamlin, and for the .South Island. The hundred yards New Zealand ladies’ hockey championship final today was won by -Miss Eastwood (Poverty Bav'i. she’ heating Miss Cooke FTawkes Bay) by three yards, with Mm.* Hepburn (Poverty Bay) two and a-half yards away. Also started Misses Dawson f Wellington). Clarke (Southland). and Foreman (Ttuahine). Ibe tine was thirteen seconds.
