HOSPITAL BAIL
The annual Hospital Ball took place at the Drill Hall last evening and was a pronounced success. There was a very large attendance, dancing room being at a premium throughout the night. Messrs J. .). Freeze and 11. A. Thompson were in charge of the floor and kept the door well tilled. There were a good many fancy costumes and some showed remarkably good taste. The hall was prettily decorated with flags and greenery a considerable amount of work being put in by the decorating committee. The music was in the capable hands of Mr l.avit’Orchestra and was of a very attractive nature. The only Haw in the arrangements was the condition of the lloor which got very dusty and heavy as the dame wore on. The ladies’ eoiumillee had made very complete arrangements for supper which was served in the Town Hall where everyone was seined promptly and with plenty, a very tine array of dainties lining provided.
Shortly after 10 o'clock the grand march of dancers in fancy costume look plaee. and was followed hv I lie judging of the costumes, the judges consisting of Mesdames lblird. ITqlihar! and Breeze, and Messrs Jeffries and \V. Wilson. Their awards were received with general approval and were aii follows: Rest Dressed Fancy Costume (lady), Ist Prize, Miss |). TO-NIGHT. To-nigbi the function will he continued when the juvenile fancy dress ball takes place. A large number of taney costumes are assured and the scene should prove a very attractive one. The complete arrangements of last evening will lie repeated.
