In ilu> Assembly, the report of the Royal Commission set. up by the Government on the Travoston railway ilisaster. stated the disaster was not due to excessive speed or to any defect in the tracks, but it may have been ciused by a portion of the brake shoe falling and causing the following wheel to mount and leave the rail. The Commission concludes that it is unable, from the evidence, to say definitely what caused the smash.
