The preliminary lxmts resulted as follows: Featherweights: —T. Donovan (Gisborne) 8.8 defeated J. Colledge (AVailii) 8.13. Flyweight: A. In nos (Christchurch) 7.10 defeated. J. F.mson (Auckland) 7.6. Bantam : - AY. Weston (Timarti) 8.0 defeated Al. Davy (Christchurch) 8.1. In the last round Davy damaged his right- thumb, the referee stopping the fight and awarding AA'cston the bout. Featherweight: —At. Carroll (Afanawatn) 0.0 defeated J. Smith (Frankton) 0.0. The decision was not popular with seel ions of the spectators. Light-weight : - \V. Colledge (AYnihi) 9.12 dofeaied R. Argylc (Ashburton) 9.10. Welterweights:—.!. Paul (Dunedin) 10.2 defeated F. Gordon (Napier) 10.7. Aliddleweight : —C. I’neoek (Ashburton) 11.0 defeated G. Gordon (Napier) 10.!!. In the third round. Poeock sent in a left to tho body and a right l i the jaw. Gordon taking the count. Featherweights : —L. Black (Christchurch) 8.10 defeated A. AYorthinglnn (Timuru) 8.10. Towards the end of the last round AA'orlhington went down from a left to the stomach, and look the count. Lightweights : Alorgan (AA ellington) 9.13 defeated J. Rhodda (lilenhciml 9.12. This bout was one of the hardest of the evening. Aliddleweight:- C. Gardner (Christchurch) I 1.1 defeated J. Broadfoot (AVaihi) 11.0. Featherweight: -J. Griffiths (Dunedin) 8.8 defeated X. Kiel.v (AA’est Coast) 8.3. As an exhibition of boxing this was the best light of the evening.
