EVERYBODYS PICTURES. • K 'IT I F UNKNOWN” .MONDAY. Iv, 'J'lii.' Unknown.” Universal Jewel masterpiece, with Virginia \Tilli in the leading role and a superb cast of players will be presented at the Princess Theatre on -Monday next. The picture-play is the screen version of the novel. “• K,” hy Marv Roberts Rinehart, and the cast and the director arc to he congratulated for the sympathy shown the original, both as regards characterization and fidelity to the story. Miss Yalli’s work reminds one of her work in “The Signal Tower” also a Universal, although in that she was the wile and mother, while in the present vehicle she is a young woman. But in both instances the .surroundings are simple and the characters are of that appealing, human sort that tit Miss Yalli mi well. The name part of the story, •• K.” is portrayed by Peres Marmont. lie is the one who deserts a great career to bury his identity in a small town, where he falls in love with Sidney, much to (he grief of one of her youthful adorers, who is made to realize that the attractions of the mature man have eclipsed in her affections his bouquets and the boxes of eandv of his hated rival, also a youth. This puppy love is made the instrument on which to hang the comedy of the picture, and also much of the tragedy. Maurice Ryan takes his part of the youth whose mentality is unhinged hy reason of his disappointment and who brings a somewhat dramatic denouement on which is based the finish of the story. Uraucis Feenev i' the other youth. Margarita Fischer is east as Carlotla Harrison. This appearance marks .Miss Fischer’s return to the screen after a retirement of considerable period after her marriage to Direetor Harry A. Pollard, who made this picture.
