The last day’s activities of the American destroyer squadron included a reception by Rear-Admiral Marveil on the Melville, at which about 100(1 attended. Forbury Park trots were continued, and many of the men were present. It. is reported that one sailor from the U.S.A. warship Moody has chosen a Duudein girl for his bride, and that the marriage was celebrated yesterday. A baseball match was played in the afternoon between the Dictator and the .McDermott’s crews. A civic dinner was accorded the Admiral this evening. The first vessel will leave Dunedin at one p.m. tomorrow. Rear-Admiral Marvell and the officers of the squadron in Dunedin were tendered a farewell dinner by the Mayor to-night. Tn responding to the chief toast, the Admiral thanked all for the extreme courtesy, kindness and hospitality extended during the visit. The destroyer squadron sails at in it Idav tO-morrow lor Wellington. FLEET VISITOR’S ACCIDENT. CHRISTCHURCH. Aug. 19. Mrs Jane I latchings. 7!! years, who resides at. 103. King St. Sydenham, while visiting Ihe cruiser Omaha at Lyttelton this aflernoon, tripped and broke her left leg. She was at tended to by the ship’s, doctor, and later removed to Christchurch hospital.
