The Committee met at Greymoutli last evening. it was agreed to ais-ept M'ednosda.y, .September Kith., as the date for the South Caiileibiiry-M'est Coast mutch at Hokitika, and to advise Boiler Union accordingly, it was also decided that Messrs Adams, Jones and Perkins interview' the Railway Department to obtain special trains for that day. A reply was received from the N.Z. Rugby Union regarding an appeal forwinded Irom Westland Sub-Union as to a ileeisinii by the referee ill the llossKanieri junior match in July, to tlio elici t that a try should not have been allowed by tlie referee. It was decided to ask Clubs to sul>mit by Friday evening next tin- names of their players iii, for inclusion in tlio Grey junior rep. team to play M’e.stland junior reps as a curtain raiser to the South Canterbury-Coast match. W. Haiinam (Ross Club) was granted a transfer to Blaketown Club, provided Ross Club agrees. Resolved that the matter of sending a team in quest of the Seddou Shield be held over till next Monday’s meet ing, pending advice Irom Westland Sub-Union thereon. Resolved that West Coa.st-Buller rep. team to play New South Wales assemble at the Union Hotel, and to ask the ‘Buffer members ot the team to be in Grey month not later than ’! ttesday next. August. 25th. Arrangements lor entertaining the N.S.W. team next, Wednesday evening were left in the hands ol Messrs Jones and Ryan, while programme arrangements were left in the bands of the Treasurer and Mr J. Kyle. Mr T. MeiHosb was appointed West Coast touch line judge and Mr J. Guy time-keeper lor the New South Males match next Wednesday. It was resolved that the match commence at 2.45 p.m. sharp, and that the Railway Department be approached with a request for delaying the Hokitika. Roeftmi and Runanga trains on that day. The charge for admission was fixed at 2s for gentlemen and 1* for ladies, and it was decided that tlio playing area be encircled with seats, to be available for the public at a fee of Od. It was decided that the combined team play in the Met Coast colours, red and white. JUNIOR. CHAMPIONSHIP. POSITION ON AUGUST 17th. Kanieri 9 wins, 18 points. Ross S wins. I draw. 17 points. N'.S.MU RUGBY TEAM. WELLINGTON. Aug. 19. The visiting New South Males Rugby team were given a civic welcome yesterday. Among a large gathering were Northern and Southern Maori teams, and Te Ante College representatives. The nroreedings were enthusiastic. UONEKE M IN CHAMPIONSHIP. WELLINGTON. Aug. 19. The Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union has decided to close the senior competition, ' which was won >iv Roneke Club.
