After a brief reception at Government House, the Prince’s second appearance on the way to his official residence assumed even greater proportions. Squads of mounted police were taxed lo the utmost in handling the crowds. Flowers were thrown Imm balconies on to his carriage as he passed. There was a brilliant display, and the weather was ideal. Multicoloured deeorations were in evidence. The President, in his welcome speech said the Prince of Wales’ visit signalised a culminating moment in the life of the relations of the Argentine Republic and the British Empire, lie saw in the visit of the Prince a wonderful opportunity to tighten Argentine amity.

The Prince finished his first day s stay here bv attending a gala banquet at the Palace, at which the officialdom of the Argentine, and the diplomatic representatives of all the nations in Buenos Ayres were present.
