The weather after lighting for the first two days of the fleets arrival relapsed into wet and cold wintry southeasterlies which still continue. One result of the persistent rain was a heavy .slip in Northlands suburb, carrying away the greater part of the Hillside Hoad and destroying a fine patch of native hush in its progress down the slope. Considerable damage was also done to private property. AT ROTORUA. ROTORUA, August 15.
