TATE. THE BOWLER. I.ONDPOX, August 11. Tate, the English bowler, denies report that he is worn out and li.ceding a rest. He will not agree to a proposal to rest until the tests. (iilligan discussing the prospects says Tate is perfectly lit. I am unable to assist Sussex in bowling and hence I am nursing him. I promoted him to first in the batting list in order to tret a rosoite before bowling. Gilligan also says' that- Hobbs will equal Dr Grace's record, but the press and public must give him a chance. They are giving him a dog’s chance by pestering him with the cry “Hobbs fails."
