The Navy Department announces the airship Shennendoah will lie outfitted with ten machine guns for experimental purposes. The guns will bo placed two on the forward gondolas, two on the aft gondolas, two atop of the ship and one on each of the power cars. The dirigible will ilv westward as far as Desnioincs. lowa, on the first of Scptemlver. HALIFAX STRIKE SETTLEMENT. HALIFAX, August 6. The Corporation has accepted the Provincial Government’s terms for the strike settlement. REPORTED NEW MOTIVE' POWER. (Received this day at 11.25 a.m.) NEW YOKE, August G. A message from Los Angeles states it is unofficially reported a live million dollar combine is backing the production of an automobile of revolutionary design driven by a new powerful synthetic gasoline. It is said the General Motors Corporation will install a sensational engine in their five makes of automobiles, to use the new fuel, which is produced at vast laboratories at Dupont Chemical Corporation and the Standard Oil Company. The parties concerned refuse to give definite information.
