BANKR'UPTS SENTENCED. PALMERSTON N., Aug. 0. At the Supreme Court. Cyril Nordhye was found guilty on three separate charges of the Bankruptcy Act. and was sentenced to six months at M aikare. and was ordered to pay ten guineas towards the cost ol the prosecution. The Chief Justice said that, had the prisoner pleaded guilty, he would have been granted probation. Instead he had set up a defence that was false. DUNEDIN. August l>. At the .Supreme Court, Walter Henry Clement, was convicted of a breach of the Bankruptcy Act and fined £25, Mr Justice Sim giving weight to ihe fact that the creditors had all been paid, and had suffered no loss.
