Bcof—A comparatively small entry for a double market and it comprised some really Ist. class cattle, but taking the yarding all round the quality in our opinion was not up to previous Grand National markets. Tho sale opened with a decided improvement on last week and improved throughout. The sale can only be described as a phenomenal one and tho best wo have seen at Addington for litany years. Mutton. —A large yarding, hut not too many for butchers’ requirements for a fortnight especially as tho AYest Const and outside butchers were operating. In sympathy with the big jump in beef’prices the* mutton market also opened decidedly firmer, but as the sale progressed things slackened somewhat, but hardened again in the closing stages. Taking it all round it was a great sale and generally firmer than last week. Not so many show sheep were in as the previous National markets and this class did not. sell nearly as well in comparison as the good butchers. Sheep, awes especially were very dead. The sale did not finish till well after dark. Good show wethers in ado £3 4s to £4 os, extra special to £7 12s od, prime wethers 49s to 51s Id. extra to 57s 6d, medium ditto 44s to 48s 6d. lighter and good shearers down to 395, prime ewes 48s 6d to 44s 6d, extra to 40s, show ditto to 565. medium ewes 37s to 10s. lighter 32s to 3(is 6d. others down to 295.
