Itiddel, X.M.. in llio Wollin*£t«»ii Magistrate's Court on Saturday, Crancis Stanley Hartnett, a driver in the employ of Muiit, Cottrell and Co., charged with stealing HI the property of dolin Jamieson pleaded guilty. Accused had delivered a load of manure at the house ol Mr Jamieson, the charity* being IC-s. In pavment, the lady ol the house gave hint a Co m mistake for a ;L1 note, and accused nave her hack 10s change, llettiming to his employers lit* said, “Here is the identical money she gave me,” producing, lour hall crown pieces. Mrs Jamieson subsequently missed the £~> note, and as a result of inquiries Hartnett was arrested. Mr W. KLeicester, for the defence, said Hartnett had been a driver for VI years, amf previously had home a goot character. Accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon within six months.
