An amicable settlement of the long standing dispute between tin* firemen of tlie s.s. Wuipori and the Union S.-V Company was reached at nine o’clock last night, resulting in a complete victory for the firemen. The death of Mrs Mary Ann Dynes, after an illness lasting three weeks took place last evening from an attack of pneumonia at tile Grey River Hospital. The deceased, who was a native of Nelson Creek, was fifty-throe years of age, and had been admitted to the Hospital only on Tuesday, hut her condition was then such that death did not come unexpectedly. The late Mrs Dynes was very highly esteemed hv all who knew her. and sincere sympathy will he extended to the bereaved relatives, of whom there are two daughters. Misses Kathleen and Phyllis Dynes, and one son. Mr .Joseph Dynes, of Greyrnouth. Deceased also leaves two brothers, Messrs Patrick and John Onider, of Greyrnouth, and two sisters.
