At the evening sitting the House passed the second reading of the Child Welfare Bill which was introduced by Sir James Parr (Minister of Education). After a brief debate the Iron and Steel Industries Hill was put through the committee stage without amendment. read a third time and passed. Tlie Weights and Measures Bill, which is in charge of the Hon. G. J. Anderson was put through the committee stage with minor amendments. The House rose at 11,24 till 2.30 to-morrow,
