MYSTiFYiNi; Systems. At the election for members of the House of Representatives the elector is required to erase the names of tlio.se candidates for whom he does not desire to vote. In the municipal elections the voter is required to place a cross against the names of those for whom he desires to vote. There is reason to think that not a few electors record their votes in the opposite (Erection t.o that which they intended. The Legislature should amend the law in the direction of making the system of voting the same at the municipal elections as at the general election. The erasing of names or issues for which the elector does not desire to vote seems to he the most desirable form of voting. If this system is good enough for Parliamentary elections, it should he good enough for municipal elections.— “North Otago Times.”
