TOILERS OF THE SEA’ TUESDAY.

“Toilers of the Sea." a new Selzniek photoplay starring Lucy Fox, suggested by \ ietor Hugo's magnificent novel, comes to the Princess Theatre on Tuesday. In addition to an appealing liltman story and settings of picturesque beauty, “Toilers of the Sea” lias an episode of supreme drama, so extraordinary. so splendidly visualised that it is doubtful if its equal lias ever been seen in any picture. This episode tran-

spires in and around a volcano—not. mind you, a studio volcano, or an illusion ol one, hut the real thing. These scenes were in fact photographed at Mt. Etna, whose recent- eruptions caused such devastation, and a desperate • tight was waged on the brink of tbc crater. The director assembled bis east which was beaded by Lucy Fox. in New York, and took them to Italy ; in fact, right to Cnstiglionc, which was in such dire peril of being overwhelmed with lava during Etna’s recent outburst. Many of the scenes in “Toilers of the Sea’’ were pbtoographed almost oil the edge of the crater itself, and Holmes Herbert and Dell Cawley fi night at the climax amid smoke and (lame, which nearly cost them their lives, and left them lor days in a state of physical collapse. The population of the'little Italian village where the picture waj made co-operated, not only by performing the innumerable tasks necessary to the making of a picture, but, also by appearing, one and all. Tielore the camera. Their smiling faces and quaint garb are bright features in ibis Selzniek photoplay. A two reel comedy, gazette and travelogue will complete a magnificent evening’s entertainment. Special music ■ ill be rendered by Miss Giesc and usual prices will prevail. Friday- Thomas Meighan in “The Ne’er-Do-Well" from the novel In Rex Reach.
