‘‘ DKSKHT DRIVEN”—TO-NIGHT. To-night McLean’s present “Desert Driven” a thrilling melodrama of the plains, but threading the series of heroic rescues, the fast horseback riding. the realistic escape from pri.wii, is an exquisitely colorful and throbbing love story as thrililig and lyrieftil as any ever written. The famous San Quentin penitentiary of California lias heen reproduced in the film, and the escape of the convict from the cells, the plunge over the prison wall and the chase by the guards is graphically •shown in the film. There are mme splendid wind and rainstorm scenes in the picture which adds greatly to the spectacular features of ihe shadow drama. Carey does some of the best individual work of his entire career, and the scenes in which he wears his store clothes are especially good. The supporting cast in “Desert Driven,” includes Marguerite Clayton. George .1 Daggner, Gluts J. Le Moyne, Alfred Al-

len and others. “Desert. Driven” was directed by Ya! Paul and adapted by Wyndhum Cittern from Wyndimm Mariyn’s story of the same name in. “Action” Magazine.
