CHINESE TURMOIL.

CHRISTIAN GENERAL WANTS AVAR. PEKIN*. July 1. Cerutti (Italian Consul) states the discussions with the Chinese delegates beginning on Gtli. In the House of Commons, the Labourites made suggestions that Britaii should convoke a conference of the Chinese treaty powers, including the Chinese, to discuss the whole question of the revision of the extra territorial treaties. Air Chamberlain, in reply, made it clear that tiro Government were tr favourable to consider such questions, until China established a Government, capable of restoring law and order and respect for treaties. Hut that even a Chinese Tariff Conference such as provided lor under the Washington Conference decision cannot lie held under circumstances wherein it might he exposed to anti-fni-eign demonstrations.
