RAILWAY MEN'S WAGES. LONDON, June 20. The “Daily Herald" understands that there is suggested a five per cent, cul. in railway dividends, fees, salaries, and wages. A conference between the representatives ol I.lie railway companies and the lfailwaymen's Trade Filinas at London lasted two and a half hours. It adjourned sine die. It is understood that no conclusions were reached. The Company managers’ view was stated. The Union representatives promised to submit the position to their executives. A further conference is likely to be held within a fortnight. The International Railway Congress at. London passed a resolution hy DO to 35 declaring a rigid eight hour day impracticable, but each case should be examined on its merits.
