FORBES UNDER WATER. SYDNEY, June 26. The flood is still rising at Forbes. All business is now at a standstill there, the business section being cut off from the residential section. The town is a. vast sheet of water. Details are not available oi the damage in the surrounding district. All the telegraph and telephone lines aie down. EXPLOSION AT POWER HOUSE SYDNEY. June 27. During a heavy thunderstorm last evening the City and Suburbs were plunged into darknes-. follow iug on a heavy explosion at the Pvrmont Power House, which wrecked the two switehhnords and caused other damage. Several electricians were temporarily disabled by the shock, but none were seriously injured. The cause of the explosion was the break-down of one of the feeding cables. Power was quickly restored m • the city, but some suburbs remained in darkness.
