Ihiirymen and others concerned in the improvement of our dairy herds on the (.'oast will he interested to learn that further fresh strains in the Jersey class are being introduced by one of our enterprising breeders, -Mr A. ])immick of Koiteraugi. That gentleman attended the recent dispersal sale of the famous herd of the late Mr 8. It. Lancaster, at Palmerston North. Ho i-. to bo congratulated upon securing from this well known herd a. very beautiful cow Meadow Maiden, with calf at foot. The sire of Meadow Maiden is Maiden Glory Lad (Amp.) and she has a. great show-ring and butter-fat record. Her calf is by Marshall Aides (Imp.), -which hull was the .highest priced boast at the sale, bringing 110 guineas. -Mr Diminiek was fortunate in securing also a very fine beautifully coloured (i-niontlis-old bull calf, Sandy Nap. This animal is the progeny of the imported tested cow Wotton Saitdaisy, and his sire is Nap, a line bred Sunrise Majesty-Majesty Fox, bull. All the near female uuceslors of tho latter are proven butter-fat producers. Wotton S'andaisy, tho dam of this youngster, brought the handsome price of 190 guineas—the highest figured cow at the recent sale. It will he seen therefore that bmtorfal producing animals continue to lie brought to the Coast. Wo are sure that the enterprise of Mr Dimmick, who is yet hut a young breeder, in thus adding to his already fine herd, will he rewarded by progeny of still better records and show-ring honours.
