EVERYBODYS PICTURES. “DON'T MARRY FOR AIOXKY.” TO-NIGHT. “Don’t .Marry fur .Money” at the I’liiice-s Theatre to-night is a deniesth• drama with a basic universal appeal— marital incompatability—and it is to?:! in a series of surprises and unusual twists, which, because of their unusual novelty, maintain and sustain the interest to the final unexpected denouement, which brings two ‘‘married lovers” together, just when they are apparently farthest apart. Marion Whitney (I’ubyo Do It oilier) enters a loveless marriage with an enormously wealthy man. All her life her old uncle, her only relative, had drummed and dinned into her ears that a love match was only “book talk,” and the smart thing to do was to marry money, no matter who the possessor. Married, slur realizes the emptiness of a life without love. Peter Smith (House Peters) adores her. but she despises him for having bought her—as she despises herself for having sold herself. Tit this frame of mind, conscious stricken and spiritless, looking for love and sympathy and companionship, she falls an easy prey to a pair of smart society sharpers. Skilloil in the subtle aids of flattery. Crane Martin (Cyril Chadwick), persuades her that, they were intended for «:in* another. ITefore she realises it, he has nearly compromised her. while 1 1 is partner, an adventuress of tin. must unscrupulous type weaves lu>r ceiU imiiuh! tier It ir-hinni. -Mis ila Mirer amuses tier ilonmiMt leve lor him. He is blackmailed or else made the subject of a social scandal. Crane Martin is murdered. Husband and wife , each take the blame upon themselves, to shield each other, si) they think. And from this unusual twist, there develops as splendid a domestic drama a-, lias yet appealed to the sympathies ol an audience. George Nichols, I lank Mann and bydin Knott, each of them an ideal selection for their roles, L. Lawrence Weber and Hobby .North in presenting “Don't Marry for Money have indeed lived up to their program of mature entertainment. In addition to “Don’t Marry for Money” will also be shown the usual well-balanc-ed program of short teat tires, including Topicnls and Comedy.
