‘PAGAN PASSIONS” —TO-NIGIIT

To-night McLeans Pictures present a special Selzniek feature “Pagan Pasions”, a great story of the Orient starring Wyndham Standing. June Divulge, Rosemary Thoby, Tully Marshall and other stars. Kipling was right when lie wrote the well-known lines, “East is East and West is "West, and never the twain shall meet,” and this fact is vividly borne out in the Selzniek Picture, “Pagan Passions,” wherein Billy, an apparently half-caste Chinese boy, is adopted by John Dangerlield. only to later fall in lore with Dangerfiehl’s daughter—causing the thought to arise in the father’ mind. “How can I permit my daughter to marry a half-caste Chinese?” Ultimately the fact that Billy is not Chinese, but. solely white is disclosed in this dramatic story of the Orient, which for accuracy and detail, fairly breathes the atmosphere of China and the Malay Peninsular, with the Eastern life and character depicted faithfully hy a competent, cast, headed by Wyndham Standing and Rosemary Thohy. Splendid supports include a. comedy and gazette. On Friday Quincy Adams Sawyer will be featured in a special star, and also the first episode of the new serial “Branded Four” will lx: shown.
