DOG DIES OF GRIEF.
LONDON. April 27. By the death of ltex, a red-haired terrier, the house dog at the Hotel Victoria, Aldrshot, shortly after the funeral of Id .-Col. E. M. M urray, a re mi irknble story of a dog’s devotion to a human friend is brought to light. Bex was deeply attached to the colonel, who stayed at the hotel, and during tlie funeral ceremony Bex ran into the cemetery chapel and sat under the Union Jack draped coffin. He afterwards walked beside the cortege to the graveside. After the funeral Bex disappeared for two days. W lien lie returned home lie refused to eat or to lie consoled, and pined away and died on Saturday.
