The southern portion of the borough known as South Hokitika passes into the care and control of the Westland County Council on Wednesday of next week, when it will be merged into the Central Riding. Very little attention has been paid to the roads of late by the Borough authorities, and an inspection is l«;ing made on behalf of the County authorities to ascertain the extent- and cost of overhaul involved in general repairs to the roads.
