DR. TKICHFI..MANN AT NELSON. Dr Telehelmann paid a vi-ii to Nelson last week returning home on Wednesday. During his stay in Xel-e.n city lie had a very friendly recepiirn on all -ides. Alany of the leading citizens were at pains to make his •stay a pleasant one, and he was entertained at various plates. The occasion of his visit was to lecture 01 the al pi lie scenery of Westland and there was a. large attendance present. The newspaper report says that the beautiful pictures themselves told a wonderful story amt a very vivid impression was given of alpine scenery. Mount Cook stood out in all it- glory and view after view cf at C edant peaks helped also to impress those I resent. Dr Toioiielmaiin’s mliievement in crossing the Alps is well known, and his collection ol phoio"Tunhs. extending inmiaroutly over
many years, is nm-i valuable. Al present thoroughly enjoyed the lecture ns the- rounds of applause al the conclusion amply testified.
