Tho House of Commons sat until (5.23 this morning, and concluded the committee stage of the Finance Bill which was reported to the House. An amendment moved hy Miss Wilkinson to exclude artificial silk irom the tax, was rejected by 180 to 82. An amendment bv Mr Gillet to, reduce the duty on articles made wholly of silk’or artificial silk, irom 33 1-12 to ten per cent was rejected by 1,0 to 80. Replying lo Major Harvey. Sir W. Joylisten Hicks, said that no communications bad been received from the Dominions, directly referring to the resolution on the subject of nationality of British women, who marry aliens, moved in Parliament in Fcbruary. He did not know a similar resolution was moved in the Commonwealth Parliament. He tried to get a general agreement on the subject of nationality and it would be wrong to introduce a bill in the meantime.
