ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. A GOOD SALE. (By Telegraph.-Speoia! to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs 11, Matson and Co., report follows regaiding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store Sheep—The smallest yarding for some oon.iiderab!e time and comprised mostly of odd lots ol hoggets, including factory rejects. Very few wethers were yarded. There was one good line of Romney ewes Jroni Kaikourn, which sold well, hut- they were real good sheep. All classes of good hoggets and young ewes were firmer, hut old and inferior ewes were hard to quit. Not many wethers, hut those

Beef —A smaller yarding than the last few weeks, only 490 head as against fi,st). The quality generally was vci-v indifferent- and a proportion of the steers small. Any good quality steers or heifers and prime young cows were firm at last week s rates and in some cases firmer. Unfinished or inferior quality in our opinion were easier. Atulton —A very large yarding and taking it all round the Ix-st quality for some considerable time. The market opened firm for best sorts, hut light wethers ami medium or inferior ewes wore easier and in many cases hard to quit, hut towards the' end of the sale they seemed to improve again. However. the average price for mutton today in our opinion. was not up to last sale. Prime wethers 41s fid to -Ifis Gd. extra to 50s fid; medium 30s Gd to 41s. others down io 335: prime ewes 31s Od l.i 30s; a few extra good up to 445: medium 20s fid to 31s: others down to IBs. Lambs- -Very few in, and mostly remnants. In fact, practically the whole of this department should have keen relegated io the store pens. Owing to the proximity to the end of the season. exporters wore very apathetic and prices generally were much easier, although this might be principally accountable for the quality yarded.
