Mrs Adams takes an apartment of her own. and there is visited by Mr Bell, who is seen by his daughter. She decides io shoot Mrs Adams, hut her courage fails her at the last moment. The story ends with the restoration of happiness in the two families, and the wedding of the two young people who were instrumental in making their parents see reason.
