The latter admits murder is one form of direct action, hut argues, that not all direct art ion includes murder. He contends that in any ease if Lyons was guilty of a breach of the law he should he tried and have a (liance of defending himself.
.Mr Holland denounces deport a t ion without trial as one of the most, dangerous forms of direct action. In reply Sir Eraneis Bell points out that the Exclusion Act of 1919 imposed statutory duties on the Attor-ney-General. That act dees not a plv to any' New Zealand resident and is only directed against the advent of persons dangerous t<a the public peace. Sir Eraneis considers the act is iust and right. Hut even if lie thought otherwise, as Attorney-General. In must obey it. Lyons in a speech last night said lie didn't waul to leave New Zealand and lie boasted the t lovernment would not dare deport him.
