Federal Judge Paul .McCormack, decided that the Elk Hills naval oil reserves, California, with a potential value of between two to three hundred million dollars were obtained by the Pan-American Petroleum, and Transport Companies, through fraud and conspiracy, and ordered their return to the Oovernment as they were not lawfully entitled to develop them. This is the first suit arising from the oil scandals won by the Oovernment. The Oovernment is instituting a suit to cancel the control and leases (cabled .May Hid, 1021). Another Oovernment suit to cancel the Sinclair Teapot Dome leases has not yet been decided.
