In the Commons the Liberals’ motion censuring the Speaker for allowing a closure on the Pensions Rill debate, aroused the indignation of the remainder of the House. It is the first time in twenty-three years that a Speaker’s conduct has been the subject of a censure motion. The Conservatives and Labourites are combining to defeat tbe motion by a huge majority. BARRING COMMUNISTS. (Received this day at 11.25 a.in.) LONDON, .May 28. In the Commons, Sir Joynson Ilieks intimated that permission had been refused to various foreign Communists t > attend the Communist Conference at Glasgow on May 30th. Any landing without permission would he deported. Lanshory and dynes asked for a definition of subversive propaganda, and whether the Government had decided that Communist propaganda was illegal. .Sir Joynson Hicks replied that certain things were permitted British nationals, hut the Government would not permit foreigners to come here and do them.

Mr Liimsbury asked if tin's was the result of communications with other Governments, with a view to preventing Britishers particiapting in international conferences abroad. Sir Joynson Hicks repiled that there had been no international arrangement. This action had been taken without reference to nnv oilier Government.
